And here is book 2 of the series I read and review. I enjoyed Book 1, Head Games, very much and I was curious if book 2 would be the same. And it was!

I am not sure I can really say that I enjoyed this or this better: characters or story. Both were really nicely written.

I like hockey. I am far from being a fan but I learned to like it. Living in Canada it is just impossible to be completely ignorant even if you do not like the game. I am not a crazy fan wearing the logo of my team everywhere on me, my car and I do not collect any items so this is why I am saying I am not a fan! Most of the time, I loose track with the new players but I live in a city where Hockey means a lot… a lot being an euphemism… I meant a matter of everyone is breathing, eating, drinking hockey in my city. I would not even be surprised if their team won the Stanley Cup if they declared the day, national day! 😀

So I know the basic rules. This is a violent game. Players are tough and even if I completely disagree that violence is not severely punished and tolerated, I know enough to appreciate this series and know if it is credible or not. It is obvious that Cassandra Carr watch hockey games at home with hubby! lol

So yes. The characters were credible. In fact, I would say that they were better credible in this book versus book 1, Head Games. Head Games portrayed 2 goalers passed their prime age. If I well remember after 40 which in this sport is really rare as goalers. Players yes, goalers rarer.

Here they were all players. They had fans. They had fame. They had plenty of women available. But after a while, they decided it was not enough and they fell in love with their massage therapist. After they finally acknowledged that they wanted more than a fling with her, they all decided of a plan for her to fall in their arms long term.

It was endearing to read each guy seducing her one by one. It was like mini love stories inside the big one.

I also enjoyed the parallel story about taking supplement. I would have maybe preferred to not know from start that the cause of their diseases was because of supplement. I would have liked better to discover it at the end of the story.

Overall I spent a good time reading this second book, Cold as Ice.

Blurb

[Ménage Amour: Erotic Ménage a Quatre Romance, M/F/M/M, voyeurism, HEA]

Luc, Carter, and Jake make up the Buffalo Intimidators’ top scoring line and play together both on and off the ice, with a history of sharing women. Each of them is also a client of massage therapist Eva. When they decide they want to be more than just clients, they approach her about having a ménage a quatre.

Eva’s been secretly lusting after the guys for months, but was afraid to say anything in an attempt to keep her relationship with the guys on a strictly professional level. Besides, how could she pick just one when such mouthwatering displays of masculinity are spread out on her massage table every day? She agrees to the ménage, but when serious health problems begin to plague members of the team, will she want more than a quick score with her hockey boys?

Note: There is no sexual relationship or touching for titillation between or among the men.

Will try this one, I was mixed on Head Games because the lead was so adamant it would never work and than the switch happened. Will give the series another shot.
