Hi everyone,

Valentines Day…it’s one of those days that polarize people. Some folks use it a chance to celebrate their relationship, others get disappointed when their partner blows it off as commercialized crap. Some singletons feel sad and lonely while others go out with their friends and whoop it up. But the smart ones – the lucky ones – curl up with their favorite book and have a hot date with their book boyfriend(s).

I live in Australia so Valentines Day falls in summertime. It’s a great time for picnics, outdoor cinema, and sunset walks along the beach. Or for curling up with a favorite book and having a hot date with a book boyfriend – or two (or more).

Are you hearing a theme?

For a chance to win a copy of either book one or two in my Dragon Alliance series (winners choice) tell me who your favorite book boyfriend is and why.  The winner will be announced on February 17.

Good luck and best wishes!

PS. As I live in a different hemisphere our time zones might not mesh but be patient – I will answer anyone who cares to leave a comment on the blog 🙂

authorbioBooks have always been my refuge, a bit (ok, a lot) like an adult cubby-house.  When real life gets too much – or too little – I can delve into my library and be utterly transported to places familiar and exotic.  I can also meet the kind of people I’d never come across in my normal life, which is not always a bad thing.

These days not only do I get to visit other writers’ worlds, but I get to create my own – worlds full of sexy warrior men; strong, capable women; and oh yes, let’s not forget the dragons.  My cubby-house is very cool, the door is always open for visitors, and new friends are most welcome.

excerptSo here’s some background – Jax and Kae are dragon riders living on a continent where technology doesn’t work. Sorcha is a Bostonian, kidnapped from Earth and only recently rescued. In this scene they’ve just come from a party and while Sorcha isn’t drunk, she is feeling the benefit of some dutch courage.
She’s sitting on the couch, Kae’s kneeling at her feet, and Jax is standing behind them wondering how the hell this situation got so far out of his control…

Jax looked at the lean legs that Kae was stroking in long, smooth sweeps and his mouth watered. It had been so long since he’d been with a woman, since he’d even wanted to, that the smell of her body and Kae’s arousal pushed every rational thought out of his head.
Lowering himself to the floor between them Jax reached out and pushed Sorcha’s skirts over her thighs. Her hands shot out to stop him.
“What do you think you’re doing?” She sounded more curious than affronted.
“I want to see you.” Jax edged the fabric higher. “Let me.”
She resisted him for long enough that he held his breath. Then Kaelum stroked under her legs, his fingers sliding up the inside of her thigh. With a full-body shiver she released her grip and laid her hands on either side of her on the couch.
Jax pushed her skirts and petticoats up to her waist and Kae moved forward so they were shoulder to shoulder. The top of her mound was bare but for a strip of sparse, light brown hair. The seam of her pink lips was visible and so was the silky moisture of her arousal.
Kae reached forward, stroking her with a delicate touch. “So soft. So pretty.” He trailed his finger down, sliding it between her slick folds. “Wet. And you smell so good.” He turned his hand a little and pushed his finger in, just to the first knuckle. “Do you want us here? Do you ache as much as we do?”
And just like that, Jax was on a knife’s edge. Kae’s intimate touch coupled with Sorcha’s calm acceptance sent his head spinning in directions Jax never normally allowed it to go. The scent of their combined arousal was like a drug and the yearning inside him rose up like the monster it was.
He waited for Sorcha’s answer, desperate for her to say yes and terrified that she would. He knew it would be a mistake for them to take her and that fucking her would complicate their lives in ways none of them needed. He should leave, right now, regardless of whether Kae stayed with Sorcha or not. Then she moved her legs, opening her knees wide so Kae could go deeper, exposing her core and her swollen clit.
Jax watched his own hand move. Seemingly of its own volition his palm stroked her soft mound while his thumb circled her nub, slow and easy.
She rolled her hips. Her invitation was impossible to misinterpret and impossible to deny.
“You have to tell us what you want, Sorcha.” Jax needed everyone to be clear. “Do you want Kaelum and I to take you to bed?”
“Yes, I want that.”
He pressed on her clit and she moaned. “And do you want us to fuck you?”
“Say it.”
“Yes. I want you and Kaelum to fuck me.”
He turned to his den-mate. “Get her in our room, get her naked and wait for me on our bed.”

Although sci-fi romances are my obsession, my book boyfriend comes from a different time and place. I’m talking ‘old school’ because I’m…well…old. Rhett Butler, the original bad boy, is who started my fixation with those males who are essentially good but outwardly exhibit all the characteristics of someone up to no good. Love it! I bet he would have been a tatted-up, Harley-riding badass in the modern era. THAT would have been a sight to see!

Ian Mackenzie from The Nadness of Lord Ian Mackenzie by Jennifer Ashley. He’s my book boyfriend because he loved Beth so much that he changed himself to become a better man. He had what today would be diagnosed as Autism.
