I believe that this story had two flaws:
1. it was more a MF love story versus a menage love story
2. the story should have been way shorter
Let me explain.
This is a menage story of 4 brothers and a woman. One alpha, a beta and a pair of twins. No. It is not a paranormal romance but when there are 4 men, this is always the way I picture them.
Unfortunately, I saw a passionate love story between two people and hardly with the other guys. Sex yes all along but the love story was never developed. It was a done deal. If you ask me the color of their hair or anything else beside their big cock, I would have no idea what to say. The main character, male and female, said their mutual “I love you” but it was not at all mentioned or a general one that diminished totally the romance with them.
I can tell you right now that after 177 pages, I have no freaking idea who are the twins and a very vague idea who is the beta. I only know that they fell for the heroine from day one and they were very convenient in sex scenes.
Length of the book? I believe 50 pages could have been removed without any impact in the story. It was over and over the same: the heroine forgave herself to love 4 good men at once, they adored her and she was the most beautiful woman in the world. It was a couple of chapter like this with a major menage sex scene in each one but nothing new in it.
Now, this said.
I liked the alpha guy and the heroine and even if I deplore the lack of character development with the others, I thought they were lovable.
The plot was not very original but the villain was very well developed and credible.
I did not read much bondage except the first scene with a blindfold. So in my world it would be foreplay or a very very light bondage.
I cringed a little bit when the author decided to put some Criminal Mind and gave a profiler genius mind to the alpha. I thought it was way over the top and the sudden admiration that the heroine had for him was a tiny bit arrogant from a city girl to a country guy as if a country guy cannot be smart.
I liked the story in general. It was very cute and I always love men who adore their woman and put her on a pedestal. It always put some smiles on my face.
[Ménage Amour: Erotic Cowboy Ménage Romance, M/F/M/M/M, light bondage, HEA]
When Katie Sellers moved from San Francisco to Elk’s Crossing, North Dakota, she was leaving behind an abusive relationship, and not looking for anything more exciting than simply a new beginning. What Katie never realized was that small-town cowboys can lead to big-time romance and sizzling sensuality.
Despite the cowboy boots and powerfully broad shoulders, there’s a polished charm to Aaron McGowan that the ladies all love. As head of the McGowan clan, he runs a profitable cattle ranch with his three younger brothers, Flynn, Blair, and Garrett. The men all enjoy the innocent flirtation with Katie, the new girl in town, until a simple game leads to romance and seduction, and men who have never had to share find themselves falling in love with the same woman. Meanwhile, the man from Katie’s past decides she needs to suffer, just to put her karma in order…
Note: There is no sexual relationship or touching for titillation between or among siblings.
