The story

Character analysis
Duncan Caldwell, 21 years old, is the son of the late Prince Charles. A strong, honorable man, he is destined to guide the Caldwell family and has to get married to pass on the name. But, he is in love with Christopher Templeton, his phase companion, from which he has tried to break free only to find he could not. His convictions on free love and free sex are shaken when he meets Ylianor, a former childhood friend, with whom he starts a sexual relationship. Still feeling unsatisfied, he brings the woman into his love affair with Chris, creating a connection that helps them explore their powers. In particular, Duncan has the power to balance other people’s energies and in fact, he needs other people’s energies as an outlet for his own. He is particularly unsettled by the ability to communicate telepathically with Ylianor, fearing it as a threat to his privacy at first.
Christopher Templeton, 19 years old, is the third son of James Templeton and since early childhood, he disliked women. Fallen in love with Duncan, he has never doubted of this love, not even when Duncan decided to terminate it after the phase. Like Duncan, he enjoys free sex with men of different sorts. When Duncan brings a woman into their love affair, he has to battle with his convictions before he can accept her. Chris has a cruel twist to his personality which brings him to physically harm people and then, thanks to his power, he heals them back to perfect health, erasing their memory of all that has happened.
Ylianor Meyer, 18 years old, was rumored to be Prince Caldwell’s illegitimate daughter although it was impossible on the planet where childbirth was under a machine’s control.
