Upset. That is how I feel after turning the last “page” of this book a few minutes ago. Not that is is a bad story, it is a good story but my enthusiasm went from 5, then after a few chapters 4 and in the end 3.

At the beginning of the story, I thought it was a great plot. The rhythm was quick and intriguing and started very much like a thriller. I knew nothing about the heroine and I loved it because she was a mystery woman running from somebody. I also enjoyed the bad ass guy who just was at the wrong place. For a couple of chapters, I really enjoyed the interaction between the two characters.

Then, I started to feel bored. Chapter after chapter, nothing much happened. She wanted to escape, he wanted to keep her. She tried to escape, he took her back. Again and again. Then the second brother showed up and bam she was immediately in lust with him within the minute he showed up.

Then in the middle of the story, another 2 characters appeared and it was like reading another romance within the other one without the prequel and the sequel. The vampire was cute and funny but the story was totally not necessary. Another book with him and his mate as main characters would have been much better. Their love story did not add or remove anything here, it was just a couple of extra chapters. Yes the vampire helped the werewolves but his romance was not as I said necessary.

Then the end was just a couple of non sense. All the werewolves coming to help but we have no idea from where and why Rio, the main male character, could ask them a favor to help him.  The villain who is really a nasty son of a bitch die very quickly and everyone is happy ever after. We finally understand why the heroine was kidnapped by the villain.  Maybe because nothing much happened for most of the story and the last two chapters it was rush in the action? But I did not buy the end of the story. I think the quick death of the villain and his gang did not feel right.

So indeed, upset. I was hoping a great outstanding story and it turned out to be a good story, well written with good moments but nothing extraordinary.

I liked the characters but did not fell for them. Maybe Draco or Rio but not much the heroine Cat or the other brother Creed. The connection was just quite not there for me.

The sex scenes were pretty vanilla to me, MF or menage. They were unfortunately relatively boring. I sure did not feel like using my A/C although with the actual temps here in Canada, I would have much needed some very very hot sex scenes to do it. lol

It took me a long time to read it. I was somehow not super extra motivated the more I went forward with the story.

A very promising story that unfortunately did not finish the line in the top position. I still recommend it for the originality of a story. For a change it was not about a pack with some alphas finding their mate. And that deserved a great positive mention as well as the very pretty cover.
