My rating: 4/5

When an author decides to start a series, us, readers never know if all the stories will have the same quality, the same intensity. When I fall in love with an author, I fall hard. And this is the case with Sophie Oak. This author knows exactly how to use plot and romance, emphasize the plots in general and pick very strong characters and of course what I love the most, women with strong personalities.

This series has it all: intensity, suspense, hot sex, humor, lovable and credible characters. Everything is in there. period.

All books can be read as stand alone but since we find the same characters in each book, it is better to follow the series in order. Book 3 is a MF and the only one I did not read and explains the no rating. Not because I know I will not like it but only because it is not a menage and so many other menage books to read before this one. I will not review book #1 and book #2 but it does not mean that I did not like them. Both got a 3.5 from me so indeed they are GREAT read. You will find same intensity there. The only difference with book #4 are the characters. I just fell for book #4 a bit more, that’s all 🙂

My preference will be book #4, Lost in Bliss. Even now, I just shake my head and think that there is not a single negative thing to say about this story. And I must say that it is the first time that I was not tempted to read the last chapter to know who the killer was. And this is not me. I mean, I know this is a terrible habit but I have to read the last couple of pages to make sure that it is a happy ending. I just have to. Seems that I have the same habit with my detergent… I have to put an extra cup. I just have to. sigh…

Ok. Back to Lost in Bliss. I love to read how a woman can be a survivor and be able to rebuild her confidence and trust and be no longer a victim. Sophie Oak explained extremely well when she says:

When you’ve been through something like that, you feel utterly powerless. I know that some people would curl up and sink into the first affectionate person they could find, but people like me and Laura, we leave. I’m not talking about just walking away. We leave emotionally. We retreat because it’s easier than feeling.

Lost in Bliss is about a woman who decide to leave everything behind her to start to move on. It is also the story of two men who fell for the same woman but had no idea how to handle a menage relationship and learned how to do it, learned how to share for the love of the same woman.

This story was very credible. I know that credible is just a word but for me credible is one word I put on top of the list when I have to list how I justify why I love a book.

By now, if you read my previous reviews, you should know that I love humor too and this is not something that I find often. So there is quote I must share because I found it totally hilarious but so full of truth!

“Look, Nell, feel free to prophesize all you like, but Callie is not having a water birth. She’s my friend, and I have to look out for her. I have been lying to her for months, and I will continue to lie to her because I don’t want her to be scared, but here’s the truth, Nell. Giving birth hurts. I mean it really fucking hurts. Oh, I know that according to Callie, Zane and Nate have seriously stretched out that whole part of her body, but I refuse to believe that Zane Hollister’s cock is as big as a baby’s head.” Rachel pointed to her daughter’s perfectly round noggin. “Look at that. Oh, it’s a little bigger than it was then, but not much. That came out of my vagina. And no one thought to lube her head up. You would think the way these men are in this town that someone would have a tube of K-Y on their persons, but no. No lube, Rachel. No whiskey, Rachel. No, you’re giving birth. You can’t have a hamburger. Callie’s going to the hospital. Callie is going to have drugs.”

Nell stood up, but didn’t move past the safety of Laura’s back. Despite her sometimes out-of-touch-with-the-real-world nature, she had a healthy sense of self-preservation. “But women have been giving birth naturally for thousands of years.”

Rachel had an answer for that, too. “Well, people have been crapping in the forests for thousands of years, too, Nell, but I don’t see you and Henry giving up your indoor plumbing. It’s called progress. When Callie goes into the hospital, I’m going to tell those doctors to put all the drugs they have into her epidural. All of them. And don’t you even talk about a silent birth. There’s nothing silent about birth. It’s really loud. First there’s the screaming because of the contractions, and then there’s some man whining about me breaking his hand. That wasn’t what I wanted to break that day, let me tell you.”

By the way… you will find Rachel in book #1 🙂

Note to author:

I did not miss the humor in the title with the 3, 2 1, Bliss! 😉

Note to publisher (Siren Publishing):

can you please stop changing the categories all the time? I mean this is turning ridiculous now. Unless we know the name of the author, the same series can be everywhere from classic to everlasting to menage amour to polyamour to menage and more to LoveXtreme… geeezzz what next? menage super multi extreme for BDSM menage?

Regarding the covers, there is not much to say, very much siren. The series just show erotic on the covers and not much of the plots which is sad because it takes a huge part of the series.
